Pros vs Joes Opportunity only for Early Bird Entires into FFPC Main Event!

Each early bird entry into the Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) makes you eligible for a drawing to win an entry into the coveted Pros vs Joes Challenge!

What is the Pros vs Joes Challenge?

Take a group of hard core FFPC fantasy players (the Joes) and pit them against a contingent of fantasy industry experts (the Pros). The overall field is divided into separate divisions (leagues). Each division of 12 conducts their own draft. The format is FFPC Draft Experts, 28-round live drafts (optimized scoring, no lineup submission) that take place in late July. The highest scoring team after 16 weeks in each division wins that league. The one team which outscores all other across all divisions over 16 weeks is crowned the FFPC Pros vs Joes Champion.

2017 FFPC Pros vs Joes Challenge
FFPC Pros vs. Joes has become a true showcase event and that will continue again this year. The FFPC will once again give away six (6) entries into the 2018 FFPC Main Event to each Pros vs Joes division winner, each valued at $1,750 per team for a total value of over $10,000 !!
The 2017 challenge will be limited to six (6) leagues, a total of 36 Joes and 36 Pros.

Division Winner Pros vs Joes 2012 and 2015
The Pros vs Joes Selection Process
The 36 Pros will be selected by the FFPC and FantasyMojo.com and invited into this competition.
I have been in the Pros vs Joes Challenge since the very beginning (starting in 2009). I have won my league twice in those eight years. That is a pretty good track record! In 2015 I finished 5th overall. Don't ask about last year. I love a all or nothing strategy in Draft Masters events!!!
Since there are just 36 Joes spots available, the FFPC had to come up with a way to fairly reward their customers and select participants. The 36 Joes were selected via a random drawing. But to be entered into the drawing you must be signed up for a FFPC Main Event team before the early bird deadline of 31 May!!!

All six of the Pros vs Joes Drafts will be broadcasted live on the High Stakes Fantasy Football Hour blog talk radio show. Participants from the Pros and Joes will be invited to appear live to discuss the ongoing drafts.

The draftboards will also be available for viewing live on http://YouTube.com/NFL

The entry fee for the FFPC Main Event 2017 is $1,875. However they have an early bird special extended through 31 May that brings the price down to $1,775. If you do an online draft the early pricing is $1,650 (vice $1,850 full price for an online team).

Additional teams before the early bird deadline are $250 off so just $1625.

See you in Las Vegas!

2017 Footballguys Players Championship (FPC) is open!

The Footballguys Players Championship (FPC) is open and going strong in 2017.

The Grand Prize is $250,000 and over $2 Million in Prizes will be awarded in 2017!

The entry fee for this mid level stakes game is $350. But if you purchase three teams you can get in for $1000.

Daily online drafts start on June 4th and I am proud to say I will be playing the Footballguys Players Championship again this year.

One reason is a free entry thanks to winning a FFPC $35 Draft Masters league last year and instead of taking the $300 in cash I elected to receive an entry into the 2017 FPC ($350 value).

The rules and format are like the High Stakes Fantasy Football Players Championship.....

-2 Flex players
-PPR (1.5 PPR for TE)

What are you waiting for?

NCAA March Madness Bracketology 2017

Ok I know this is a fantasy sports blog-primarily football, go it.
And oh by the way the fantasy football posts have been lacking the past two months. Copy shot! A much needed break I assure you.

Here are some tips for anyone filling out your 2017 NCAA Bracket.

1) Pick a winner first and advance them all the way to the winner circle. One of the most common mistakes when filling out a bracket is NOT picking the overall winner. It is tricky because often the last game is not the same pick method or it is hidden a bit by the tie breaker.

Hint pick a #1 seed as they have won about 15% of the time. This year I like Kansas.

2) Turn in your bracket on time. Remember the play-in games on Tuesday and Wednesday are now called the "Round 1" games. Round 2 starts Thursday and the first tipoff is the deadline when most brackets need to be submitted. Noon on Thursday is the usual first tipoff!

3) The Top Seeds are top seeds for a reason.
#1 seeds make the final four 40% of the time. Pick two #1 seeds to make final four.
Number 2 seeds make the final four 23% of the time and...
Number 3 seeds make the final four 8% of the time
Number 4 seeds make it 6% (Number 6 do so 4%)

So pick two to three #1 seeds to advance and then add in a couple of  #2 or #3 seeds. Have them win all their games into the final four.

Hint: If you add up all the seeds in the final four you should not exceed seven as a rule of thumb. So if you have two #1 seeds and a #3 seed do not pick anything but a 1 or 2 seed to finish out the final four.

4) Use the bookies to pick the winners of the close games-i.e the 8/9 seeds in Round 2. Usually these are 50/50 matchups.

5) Look for upsets in the 5/12 matchups and the 7/10 matchups. The underdogs win 36% in 5 v 12 matchups and 40% in 7 vs 10.
So pick one or two as upsets from category.

6)  Do not pick a #1 seed to lose in their first game. They have never done so.

7) Only pick 6th or higher seeds to win in later rounds. Again the higher seeds usually win.

8) Look at home field advantage and momentum going into the tourney. I also get some extra help from Jeff Sagarin and his rankings!

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaab/sagarin/

9) Play in all the free brackets-they are free and you never know.

10) If you pick an 8 seed to upset the #1 seed in the third round then advance them to the Elite 8. And in general if you pick a team to upset continue to have them win until they face a team higher than the team they faced. So if you think the #13 will beat #4 in round 2 keep them winning the next game vs #5 seed.

My 2017 Picks
Final Four:
Kansas, UNC, WVA, Duke
(that is the number 8 if counting seeds 1,1,4,2=8

In Championship:
Kansas vs Duke (ACC fan I am
Upset picks: Syracuse,
Long shot to win it all: WVA, UCLA, Louisville, FSU?

Sleeper to go far: Nevada (12th seed)
