Two weeks into the season and the injuries are piling up. Pick one of your favorite backups who a Week 2 injury has put in line for a major role, and say why you like him.

Corey Coleman is out for at least 8 weeks with a broken hand. Rashard Higgins stepped in during the week 2 matchup and caught seven balls for just under 100 yards (topping his season totals from 15 games last year!). He has rocketed from practice squad to the Browns #1 WR at the moment based on his good chemistry with whomever is at their helm. If you need some waiver wire help at WR or Flex pick him up.

Karen Hunt. He averaged 8.7 yards per carry. Had 246 total yards and scored three times. All in all 41 points in PPR leagues. All against a befuddled and incoherent NE defense. It was a fantasy. A perfect storm. Is he good. Yes! Is he going to be that good in any other games this season.....doubt it.

Ask the Expert Question: Who will be the Fantasy MVP, and why?

Who will be the Fantasy MVP, and why?

Philip Rivers. Why? Because QBs always win this award right? Look you can draft Rivers in the 11th, 12th or 13th rounds in most drafts. He finally has all of his main WRs healthy (Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin) and two quality TEs in Antonio Gates and the breakout candidate Hunter Henry. Throw in a decent bell cow RB in Melvin Gordon and you have all the ingredients of top-5 QB. He has done it before. In fact, it seems like every three or four years in happens. He is due. And he can give you the Championship if you waited on QB and took him late.

Ask the Expert Question: What is one late-round, lightly regarded player you hope to draft onto every fantasy team? And say why.

What is one late-round, lightly regarded player you hope to draft onto every fantasy team? And say why.

I will give you three (one at each position). RB Javorius Allen BAL, WR Marquise Goodwin SF and free agent TE Gary Barnidge. All are going undrafted in many 12-team 20 round leagues. You can get them in the late rounds easy (18th -20th). Allen has been arguably the best RB in Baltimore. I know T. West and Danny Woodhead have the top roles locked, but we are talking sleepers right. Draft him and hope for the home run. Goodwin has the speed to take the top off of defenses. SF may surprise some people this year with their style of offense under Hoyer. Goodwin is going to be streaky but good on the weeks you hit with him. Finally Barnidge is a stash and pray possible top-10 TE depending on where he lands. Draft him and wait it out for the first five weeks to see if and where he goes. Now I have just given up all my deep sleepers before the Labor day drafts!!!!

Ask the Expert Question of the Week: Who is your comeback playerof 2017 and why?

Who will be the comeback player of the year? Why?

Adrian Peterson. If AP can stay healthy and return to form (4.5 PYC in 2015) he will get his chances with the high powered Saints offense. Even if he is not the workhorse RB, he can still carve out a good season (1000+ combined yards and 10 TDs).
Add in the ever present possibility of an injury to Mark Ingram or a trade (Alvin Kamara is the heir apparent) and you may find yourself with a RB1 with an 7th or 8th round pick.

Ask the Expert Question: Pick one player you are most interested in watching int watching this weekend?

Full slate of preseason games starts next weekend. Pick one player -- rookie, veteran with a new team or coming off injury, or other reason -- that you're particularly interested in watching play, and say why.

Chargers and Seahawks play in the Week 1 Sunday Night Football preseason game this week. I am watching Eddie Lacy. The 2015 Pro Bowler is around RB25 or lower on most boards but I am high on the former Packer. He has hit the weight clauses in his contract and has received praise from head coach Pete Carroll. But I need to see him run. I need to see how Seattle uses him. And see how the team does with him versus Thomas Rawls or C. J. Prosise. He needs to meet my “eye” test. But if he does, he will be a bargain (or has been-I have drafted this guy every time I get the chance).

18 Fantasy Football Leagues signed up for so far in 2017

Ok every year I promise to cut back on the number of fantasy football leagues I play in. Sometimes I am successful, other times I get sucked back in.

2017 is a “I got sucked back in” year.

The FFPC brought out some great new leagues-dynasty draft experts being one and a “Double up” Payout league another. So I have increased rather than decreased my play this year.

Here are what I am in so far....

Active Management
1) First on my list is the FootballGuys (FBG) Players Championship (FPC).
$350 entry fee, rules just like Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) and you can buy 3 teams for $1,000 saving $50.
But best of all you are playing for a $250,000 Grand Prize!

They have tons of drafts which run through September 7th. That's right, all the way up until the kickoff game Thursday night. I joined a league on Labor Day weekend. Love playing then, right before the start of the season.

2) Fantasy Football Players Championship (FFPC) $250 Classic
3) FFPC $250 Dynasty
4) FFPC $77 Dynasty
5) FFPC $77 Dynasty
6) Pro Football Forecast Magazine Experts PPR League
7) Pro Football Forecast Magazine Experts Standard (Non-PPR) League
8) Aforementioned Scott Fish Bowl (SFB420) 2017 Pro Am Contest
9) Local League where I have been the commissioner for all 19 years of existence and won 4 titles.

Draft and Forget (or Draft Expert Leagues)
10) FFPC $77 Dynasty DE
11) FFPC $35 DE
12) FFPC $35 DE
13) FFPC $35 DE
14) FFPC $35 DE
15) FFPC $35 DE Double UP (place in top 50% and double your entry fee)
16) FFPC Pros vs Joes Contest
17) Fantasy Index Experts
18) Fantasy Index Auction

So...$1,250 in entry fees and 18 leagues-9 actively managed and 9 draft and forget.

Plus a few expert drafts for magazines which will not be played out.

And it is just mid August...
